Explore the Amazon Rain Forest in Peru! Professor Dennler of Communications and Dr. Skrade of Biology lead the program. This program explores how culture interacts with communication and science. It will examine problems encountered when communicating across cultures. Students will have the chance to experience presentations from members of other cultures. This program also offers investigations and workshops about the wildlife, ecology, conservation and sustainable development of the Peruvian Amazon. It will examine ecology and culture in the context of health and healing. Students will learn about the traditional resources and local practices of several indigenous communities. This is a great opportunity to get a brief introduction to this wonderful country and regional culture. Receive credit for ID 200, COMM 221, or BIO 215.
