This course prepares students to develop culturally sensitive perspectives on healing modalities of different cultures and their application to current nursing practice. An international experience in London, England will facilitate a deeper understanding and appreciation of the art and science of being a healer and the evolution of nursing practice. The historical landmarks of Florence Nightingale, the British women who transformed the practice of nursing over a century ago, and current healthcare settings in England will be explored in the context of cultural care. This program is for NUR 352-Exploring Transcultural Nursing and is being led by Professor Crook-Lockwood, Assistant Professor of Nursing.
